Scope
The course is designed to enable Masters and Deck Officers to further develop their existing knowledge, understanding and skills of the behavior and handling of ships in various operating conditions.
The theory part will review basic principles, rules and regulations within ship handling and instructions for use of ship maneuvering equipment.
Practical navigational ship handling scenarios using the latest TRANSAS NT PRO 5000 bridge simulator in open and narrow waters.
Objectives
Those successfully completing this course shall be able refresh their understanding on different factors affecting handling vessel and be able to apply appropriate actions for safe navigation.
Entry Standards
This is a Company Specific requirement by Western Shipping Singapore wherein all their seagoing Masters and Chief Officers in the fleet are required to take ship handling and Maneuvering Course if last training was taken more than 5 years.
